Generally I am fairly satisfied with the program. What I would like to see changed is I would like the ability to make the margins smaller so I can get more on the page. I would also like to see a numbering system for the font. If you try to make it bigger the sliding scale jumps to real large when I just wanted it a little bigger. I strongly want to be able to see my collections whenever I pull up the home page or the library. And to be able to hide books so there isnt as much clutter on the page, books Im not looking to read soon!
I really enjoy using this app especially at night when I can change the screen brightness. Another thing I like is the amount of U.K. sports titles that are available that I couldnt find in store on online in North America.
Love this app. I can read from my cell anytime.
The new update has created a mess of my library. Many books I have read now are marked unread. Books previously in the I am Reading section did not move into the new reading filter. Customer Support says the upgrade was to make the app better. It may have for some - not for me.
So was 3/4 of the way through a book that came to kobo via bookbub. The OS update happened in the background & book went back to preview. Bookbub said talk to kobo, kobo said talk to bookbub. So now I get to pay $16 to buy it to read the last few chapters. And if thats not bad enough - all the books are mixed up - you click a title and its not THAT BOOK. What a mess!! Be careful people if youve got updates happening in the background. I cant say enough how unhappy I am with Kobo just now. WHAT A MESS!!!
The new update wiped all of my purchases from the app and wont allow me to download them again.
I had my collections all organized, now everything is a mess, and the app glitches when you try to re-add books within the collection page. Not at all impressed!!!
My carefully managed library of unread books has been destroyed!!! Books lost. Deleted books returned. Have to re-download most of the books (because the support centre had me sign out. Why does that delete the downloaded books?) And how do I even know when Ive got all my book purchases? The new format is lousy. Why do you need the author alongside the book cover when the name is on the cover in bigger type? And stacking multiple books behind the author makes for more keystrokes when searching for one of their books. Bunch of IT cowboy coders. Probably dont use the app themselves. Didnt test the app well before releasing it. Didnt warn customers of the new version and instead just forced it on them. Didnt provide knowledge of the new app (including problems) to the Support Centre so they could help customers adequately. Didnt provide a fallback plan to V7.10.n when things went belly up. I dont think you give a darn about your customers!!!!!
I have loved this app from Day 1 and I have found the selection to be good, even in free books. I have come across many authors that Ive never heard of and enjoyed
The new update is horrible! I ordered a new book and it keeps telling me that it either cant update my library or the content is not available.
Right now it sucks. All of my books except one are gone. They are not showing up anywhere so I can redownload them. And Im writing this here because when I try to "contact us" it wont let me. Please fix it so I can have my books back.
Please pay attention to the fact that your latest update is clumsy, messy and very disappointing. What happened to keeping the customer happy and satisfied - after all, we are spending money and supporting you. This can never be called an improvement. Disappointed.
Want middle of the road reader that you cannot buy books directly from then this is for you. You have to go to the kobo site to buy anything, even if you downloaded a preview. So much possible. Interestingly, they stopped sending alerts/messages in the program in 2014 but it is still an active part of the program. Maybe they are waiting for retro to return?
I dont like the new format. I cant tell what books I just bought nor can I see what ones I still have to read.
I use this app constantly, and lately I just dont want to read because it sucks. Font will not change from microscopic, adjusting it just changes spaces between lines. The new update took away my library and now Im stuck with the home page, which I hate. I am so frustrated and annoyed. Please please please fix what you broke!!
I love being able to get any book at any time and to carry them all with me at home or on vacation. Love Kobo.
I love this app! Works great and I love the fact it keeps the page of the book im reading between my, iPad, iPhone, pc and kobo ereader. I never used to read much, but now I read daily! Ive even used it to read books purchased from iBooks and fromthe library, although those ones didnt sync between my devices. Loads of free books to read too.
I liked having the "Im reading" and "Already read" sections and I miss them with this latest update. REALLY miss them. They were quick ways to sort. I want them back! Why do apps always feel the need to screw with what works. Wish Id skipped the update. Loved the older version. This is just making me grumpy.
Your new update sucks,bring back the library
